This is one of the most beautiful spa's I've visited in Toronto. The decor of the main room was beautiful with a discreet Asian feeling and zen-like air. I was welcomed with a yummy herbal tea and trail mix, and settled into a lush recliner to fill in the registration details. There were huge colourful pillows surrounding the room providing numerous places to relax and leaf thru one of the abundant magazines prior to or after treatments. I tried the jacuzzi before my treatments and found the water could have been warmer and the jets a bit stronger for my liking, but most I think would have found it satisfactorily calming. The massage and exfoliation were great. The exfoliation included (at your option) buttocks, breasts, and tummy - that was interesting, and was performed matter-of-factly. Only complaints were that the massage room was a bit cool, and the sheets were permeated with a slightly sour smell of massage oil even after laundering (only noticeable when face-down at the headrest); after I commented, this was remedied with a spot of fragrant essence. Apparently the sesame in the oil they use does not wash out no matter how hard they try. All in all, a lovely place with great treatments. I mention the little things that kept it from being a 10/10, but overall, I would highly recommend.

It was difficult to make time to come back. The second polish application was better, however, when I removed it later, my nails were stained yellow. The staining remains even after 2 weeks. Average environment, questionable services.

Shizen has a wonderful, relaxing, and comfortable feel to it. This is our second time there and we have not been tempted to try anywhere else. They adjusted to my needs, especially since I have an long-term injury and were always concerned with my needs. The person I went with was in pain the next day because his masseuse was somewhat aggressive. Would recommend it but please address issues beforehand.
