The Spa & Salon at the Four Seasons Resort and Club at Las Colinas holds the distinction of being the first true spa and salon ever built by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Open since April 1986, The Spa & Salon has benefited from being the first to set trends, launch new treatments, develop talented spa employees and for the most part, establish the standards by which all Four Seasons spas operate.

Boasting unparalleled personal service and virtually every health and beauty treatment available, The Spa & Salon offers an experience available only at a few of the world’s most luxurious spas. In fact, it has been recognized as the leading spa in Texas and among the top 20 resort spas in the United States by Travel & Leisure Magazine (2005).

In May 2004, The Spa & Salon, underwent a total remodeling using the interior design skills of Susan Seifert of Dallas-based Morrison Seifert Murphy. It still retains the Zen-like atmosphere that it begin with, but the look and ambiance of the space is more modern and more sophisticated. The most dramatic addition is the Waterfall Wall (16 feet wide by 10 feet tall) that greets guests just before they enter the women’s or men’s relaxation area.

The spa experience has become an essential part of the luxury service offered at the resort, explains Craig Reid, Four Seasons Senior Vice President of Operations. Over the last 20 years, spa services have become an important element of good health and well being in American culture. The Spa & Salon at the Four Seasons creatively incorporates the pre-existing features including the dry sauna, steam room, heated whirlpool and cold plunge pool available in the men’s and women’s areas.

Features that set The Spa apart include Customized Treatment Rooms. A dedicated Vichy Shower Suite, a Couples Massage room, and a private Mar de Paz bath are three that are featured. The Vichy Shower is an invigorating treatment that has multi-directional shower heads that shower and massage the entire body at once. The Couples Massage room offers an intimate respite for couples that want to share the spa experience. The Mar de Paz is an enclosed private bath, enhanced by candlelight and aromatherapy scents. It is located in the women’s locker area. All the rooms have individual controls for light, temperature and sound.

The Spa offers a full line of traditional treatments as well as an expansive menu of new and exotic experiences. From Swedish, Shiatsu and Aromatherapy massages to the Loofah Salt Glow, Specialty Wraps and Facials.

New Treatments incorporate indigenous ingredients and compliment the existing menu of body and skin care treatments. Four Seasons signature products are incorporated into the treatments and are offered to guests for purchase. Examples of some of the new treatments introduced within the last year include:

• Four Seasons Rituals – cleansing scrub and Vichy shower, soothing bath soak, hydrating massage: body elixirs change with the seasons.

• Hot Towel Massage – a deeply relaxing massage incorporating steaming hot towels to reach sore muscles.

• Crushed Pecan Body Scrub – a soothing exfoliation of the skin

• Red River Mud Masque – ideal detoxification and hydration of the skin

• Parents Getaway – includes access to the Resorts Kids Club for children (age 6 weeks to 6 years) of parents having at least two one hour treatments at The Spa.

The Salon provides all the essential services that you would expect from an award-winning Resort. Pampering manicures, soothing pedicures and exciting opportunities to work with experienced hair stylists in a beautiful setting. Additionally, the Salon offers make-up applications, make-up lessons and facial and body depilatory waxing. It features a full array of beauty’ nail, hair and skin care products. The Salon is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m..

Spa Dining is offered in both the women’s and men’s relaxation area of The Spa. Executive Chef Christof Syre offers a simple menu full of delectable and healthy cold cuisine. Light salads, soothing fruit smoothies, tasty exotic cheeses and vegetables, herbal teas and more. Lighter fare is also available through room service or at any of the Resort’s restaurants.

Other features of The Spa & Salon include a lovely private outdoor swimming pool and heated whirlpool available year round for sunning, dipping and relaxing. It is accessed through a private stair inside the Spa relaxation rooms.

Additionally, Spa guests staying overnight at the Resort have complimentary use of the 6,000 square foot Fitness Center located in the Sports Club. A full array of exercise equipment, including Nautilus, Cybex circuit machines, free weights, indoor/outdoor jogging tracks, indoor and outdoor lap pools, a full schedule of free exercise classes (aerobics, yoga, Pilates, water aerobics), personal training and nutritional counseling are available.

The Spa & Salon is open to the public as well as Resort guests. There is a small fee charged to day spa guests.
