I went for a brazilian. Needless to say this type of experience is never an easy one for anyone! However, I was left waiting for 15 minutes until a technician asked me "What do you want" when I said I was waiting for an appointment, she left, then came back 5 min later saying that I was her client. The wax was too hot and the technician was not very experienced. She did not know how to apply wax properly. This was a very very painful experience for me and I would not recommend this spa for any type of waxing. It also didn't help that the technician did not speak or understand English so communicating to her what I needed was also difficult. Although, I have heard other services at this spa are great but would not recommend waxing.

The massage was very good by Vicki. The receptionist seemed a bit inexperienced but nice.

Overall, I had a great time. This was my first visit to Rain. I got an aromatherapy RMT massage and a mani/pedi. The massage was wonderful - Vicky did a great job and applied enough pressure. I loved how the table reclines when I'm lying on my back and the hot towels used to support my neck and relax my forehead. The mani/pedi was great, although I wish I knew the colour selection didn't include OPI/Essie. The colours were still pretty but I was looking forward to using some of OPI's crazier colours. On the plus side, I love how my hands feel so soft, even though they weren't exfoliated. Very very nice! Some smaller pluses: I like that they have plastic slippers rather than cloth - it makes me feel they are sanitary! And they were given to me in a sealed plastic bag. The robe was warm and fluffy, really cozy. I was offered tea while waiting - I came 1/2 hr early - and bottled water after the massage. I didn't know they had a shower but went to use it after a gentleman had pointed it out. It was heavenly! It had a rain shower head, which I love using. Some minuses: Aside from the lack of OPI/Essie, I wish the lounge room wasn''t right where reception was, especially since you can hear the clacking of shoes as people make their way up and down the stairs. It disturbed the great ambience they were trying to create. Also, my mani/pedi was done in the room adjoining the lounge room which was a bit strange since anyone and everyone could sit there and watch me! Reception could have been warmer, but they were helpful when they realized my mani/pedi wasn't booked properly and did their best to accomodate me. Big Minus: This might just be me, but I really don't understand why higher-end spas don't have those UV dryers for mani/pedis. Two lower-end nail places I've been to ($15/18 manis!) use them and my nails easily last 2 weeks and the dry time is at most 10 mins. I hate how I have to sit there so long just to wait for my nails to dry! Melissa, the manicurist, used a quick-dry topcoat which definitely helped but I wonder why those UV dryers aren't part of their faciilities.

I was asked to come a few minutes early yet had to wait 20 minutes beyond my appointment time.
